Willy willy gives me the willies
The weather gods must hate me. This is the second time this has happened in a couple of months. Our question now is do we replace the part again, for about $30 and hope it doesn't happen again too soon, or spend about 10 times that amount to get a new steel clothesline?

good grief!
do you have a plain wall in the sun where you could mount one of those fold-down rectangular numbers? or get one that reels out from the wall and clips into a post? that way they could be put down out of the wind.
or grow something/build a screening wall that screens the clothesline area, although I imagine winds that strong just come straight over the house as well. so maybe not.

you could try freecycle for a pre-loved steel one?
